Got it. Mardas' inside info. 60 stars. I am currently at 23 so i still have some way to go.

Damn right you do. They are

Damn right you do. They are 120 as Mario + 120 as Luigi whose controls are more loose and he jumps higher + 1 last star after you get all 240 in a new glalaxy: Grand Finale Galaxy.

That's 241 stars in total!

I will go for the 60 for sure. After that i may try a few more but i can't see myself getting 120, let alone 241!!

61 stars confirmed! Also

61 stars confirmed!

EDGE rates gamers according

EDGE rates gamers according to their taboos, gaming choices and genres. I have a friend who all the time plays Wii and DS and recently bought xbox360. Out of the all time xbox360 top 50 games on Metacritic list, only 5 interest him and he finds good enough and worthy of playing. That's what i call a Wii Syndrome and that's a 2 from EDGE.

You would get an 8 i think but after you said you are not a Mario fan, i teased you with a 3.

capish?

I get why it's so highly

I get why it's so highly rated. I mean some of the levels are indeed unbelievably well designed and the game never bores you with repetition although the basic premise is always the same.

It's my first Super Mario game but i really can't connect with Mario as a character at all..

Also i found some issues with the camera whereas most reviews claim that it's perfect. There was some repetition in the boss battles especially against Bowser who you find a few times and it's ALWAYS the same! Again reviews claim that boss battles are really excellent. I think Nintendo (like Valve) gets some leniency with regards to its games.

Like i said i can appreciate why SMG is thought to be as good as it is but it's clearly not my type of game.

Let's not forget it's

Let's not forget it's heritage, legendary status and appeal. SMB3, SM World, Yoshi's Island, SM 64 and even SM Sunshine are games that people grew to cherish them as children.

Mario games ceased to be GOTY material to me the last 5-10 years. The proof is that i'm not sad when i finish them and i'm not eager to play them on launch day.

They still get a 9 or 10 from me but they are not the only ones.

LOL! Forgot about Super

LOL!

Forgot about Super Mario Sunshine. That was my first Mario game.

I suggest you try some of the

I suggest you try some of the following that are based on a different genre/playstyle formula but retain everything that make Mario games so good:

Paper Mario N64 or VC

Mario RPG N64 or VC

Super Paper Mario: TTYD GameCube

Mario & Luigi (1 on GB Advance and 2 on DS)

Luigi's Mansion GameCube

They are a cross platform/rpg.

Let's not forget Wario's early days. His 1st appearance was in SM Land 3 on GB which i still love.
