GRID
I havent been playing much that lately, what with my imminent move back to the motherland, but today I managed to have a couple of hours on GRID.
What a great game. I loved DiRT and GRID seems to carry over the same "arcade" handling and super braking ability but now its all on a circuit and with different events to take part in.
I remember dasher mentioned that he hates drifting, but you dont have to take part in those (or any other events) that dont tickle your fancy.
Gonna have a break as the racing was getting a bit too intense after those Coronas ... so I am off to play some Final Fantasy: Crisis Core while my dinner is being prepared : )

DIRT and GRID are awesome games. We should play them again some day...

Loved Dirt. It's probably one of the best racing games i have played. I didn't buy GRID but saw Mardas' copy and it looked like it was also really good.
Mardas is GRID better than Dirt? The online part should be right?

Both games are superb. They share the same game and physics engine. One is offroad racing and the other one circuit and street racer. They both shine in what they represent.
Re: GRID
I have a soft spot for Rally games, well racing games, well games
.
I havent played GRID online but I am sure it will be a better experience than DiRT as you can see and make contact (not always a good thing in an online racer). Even though I completely understand why Codies made DiRT that way.
Rally racing is all about you against the clock, the risks and rewards, the uneven track and the difference surfaces. It all makes for a different race every time. My all time favourite is Rally Sport 2 a game that I spent a crap tonne of hours on.
I personally dont think that you can compare a street / track racer with a rally game, but what do I know I am just a wierdo.
I loved the GRID "flashback" feature which rewinds time which is great for those times when you are just a little bit to eager to get round a bend.
What I dont like about GRID (it is evident in DiRT also but for some reason it never bothered me as much) is that the car brake too effectively and that the car handles as if it is rotating on a pencil.
Both great games though people, great games.
