Through the Fire and Flames
Lately, as in two days ago, I managed to rekindle my inner gaming flame that had been reduced to a dull lukewarm glow ever since I left London for pastures new.
It needed a major kick-start to get those flames raging once more. After months of squalor and saving every surplus cent I departed with a wad of e-cash in exchange for 50 inches of High Definition perfection. For you technology anoraks out there, she rolls under the tag of Pioneer PDP-LX5090, and she is pure class.
But enough of my pixel fetish, the point is my games are now treated with the respect and love that their divine creator intended and I am lapping up every bit of that eye candy.
Every old game has magically been transformed into a new game. I have furiously been rummaging through my eighty or so current generation game collection, for my 360 and PS3, to see what I had been missing over the last few years.
I have also started listening to my favourite gaming podcasts again, and my ipod has become my new best friend and co-driver on every excursion I take in the car. The trips in Nicosia may be short but they are frequent making it possible to get through a couple of shows a week.
I cannot wait to play Fable 2 (360) today, I am (and have been for the last eight hours) downloading Wipeout HD (PS3), considering Dead Space (Multi-platform) and the thought of Fallout 3 (Multi-platform) just over the horizon is almost to much to take in, almost.
With the best release lineup of the season fanning those flames it looks like I am back in the mix with more money being burnt to fuel the comeback.

Re: Through the Fire and Flames
I remember when i bought my Plasma around the same time last year. I had "saved" Bioshock for the occassion. Instead i was playing Jeanne D'Arc and Silent Hill on my PSP.....Go figure!
Kaloriziki!
Re: Through the Fire and Flames
Thanks buddy, its definately a very strange feeling finally getting a HD TV after all these years or whining and waiting. I have got to find something new to moan about now.
It looks like you and me both are still saving Bioshock for a special occassion, whatever that means.

A Pioneering move sir. Just watch out for that lightning, we lost Nova Greece the other day with a big bang and a pop! Still, even the "No or Bad Signal" message looks dam sexy in full HD.

Thanks Mont.
I still dont have any proper channels as I am without a decoder and dont really want to put myself through something like watching the terestrial channels so only games and Blue Ray / DVD have graced her panel so far.
Just remembered we need to sort out a Rock Band demonstration for E, let me know when it suits.
