It Takes Two Baby

Looking back to my first gaming memories I can envision an Atari CX2600 nestled comfortably before me in thick 70's stylied carpet. Reflected in the blank TV screen were the silhouttes of two young children each holding a paddle controller. The TV suddenly comes to life with the word PONG replacing the smiling silhouettes.
Super Mario Kart on the SNES also springs to mind with all the great times I spent playing with friends. Those days remain as bright and vivid a memory as what I was doing yesterday, if not more so.
It seems the memory of playing with others sticks out from all those involving solo games I have played, no matter now incredible they were. The reason is that I am not only remebering specifics about what happened in a game but also the experience we shared whilst playing .
There is just something quite special about sharing a gaming experience with a close friend. It nearly always escelates the enjoyment of any game. It gives you the chance to talk about what is going on, to see how different people think and tackle the same challange, co-operate and "the crown in the jewel" ... to laugh together.
Some "recent" memories of good times spent with friends and games are with the likes of Halo, Crackdown, Ghost Recon, Pro Evo Master League, Burnout Paradise, Rock Band, Monster Hunter 2, Saints Row 2 and The Simpsons.
There will always be room for the single player game but from now on I will be actively seeking to play local and online co-op games with my friends. If you have any games that you would like to recommened for my adventure into the world of co-op gaming please let me know by posting below.

Yeah, i had some of my most memorable gaming experiences in Coop and it mostly started with the original Playstation and Xbox. I played tons of Pro Master League, Halo and Baldur's Gate in coop and i had a fantastic time with two friends of mine who were not even "hardcore gamers".
Most recently i managed to play Killzone: Liberation, Crackdown, Kane & Lynch and Saints Row 2 in coop. Fantastic experiences especially since i would not play any of these games by myself.
It doesn't have to be a story driven game either for example Left 4 Dead.
It really provides another layer of story/experience when playing with another person. Right now there are a few games that i want to play in coop. I have World of Goo, Gears of War 2, House of the Dead: Overkill and even Too Human.
