Carpal tunnel syndrome - Games make you healthy
I trully believe in the healing form of games...
for a year now i had a problem with my left hand, i had the known carpal tunnel syndrome...where your fingers get stuck and you cant move them...man it was really bad cause i lost my edge on games.. i used to be one of the best in all type of games...all my friends were amazed by the edge i had but now i lost them...maybe a gamers edge doesnt last long!
but Activision made a miracle...they created a very nice game...its called guitar hero...with the guitar i started moving my fingers and making them stronger and stronger till that sensation of the carpal tunnel faded to black...it left...amazing!
now i am in the training process of climbing that mountain again...the problem is that to be one of the best gamers you need time...time is what i dont have.
but the gods of game will shine upon us...
and the gods of internet connection should wake up and fix our connections!!!!
as for guitar hero i personally thank the creators of the game...thank god i avoided the operation in my hand...

Can't say i have the same
Can't say i have the same experience as you my friend. My right hand hurts from using the mouse and joypad almost 24/7. My eyes are always red and it is not because of a lack of sleep.....
To your health and to videogames!
Logitech has ergonomic mice
Logitech has ergonomic mice which let your hand have a full grab on, try one of the G series the gaming ones which are the best. you hand will stop hurting. Logitech has made a research and said that most of the pain in hands is because people are using keyboard and mouse that are not ergonomical.
As for your eyes, get a better LCD monitor and they will stop being red. and when you are using a pc put an alarm clock on every 30 mins, when the alarm hits then move your eyes from the screen and focus on something that is very distant for 30 secs.
also have your monitor below eye level so your eyes will be half closed and will not dry out!!!!
listen to some tips from the pro!
Interesting to see that
Interesting to see that exercising the movement in your fingers by playing Guitar Hero has helped you. At first it hurt my arms but after my muscles get used to the motion is became just as natural as walking. Even though we never think of exercise when we play Guitar Hero it really is a great workout for you fingers, as long as you are holding the guitar correctly.
I find that my body hurts all over and my eyes are always tired and sore also. However I have also noticed that by making a few adjustments to things like my work station and my general posture I have reduced the negative effects of repetative motions such as typing and even sitting incorrectly. I also use eye drops which have helped a great deal to releaved tireness and soreness.
Obviously no amount eye drops, foot stools or adjustment in the angle of your hands when you type will make a difference if you are playing for huge chuncks of time but making a few minor changes will go a long way.
