Microsoft Keynote at CES 2008

I was listening to the podcast of the Microsoft Keynote at this years Consumer Electronics Show and I have to say that when all was said and done I was left with a feeling on "hmmmmmmme". I sat through almost an hour of marketing spin, poor jokes and a finale which featured a "face off" between Slash and Mr. Bill Gates but as far as gaming announcements were concerned there was nada to write home about.
This was incidentally the last keynote Bill Gates will be giving at a CES as chairman of Microsoft seeing as he will be stepping down, once again, sometime in July to take up an active roll in his charity.
There was talk prior to the show about the announcement of an Xbox "Ultimate", a system with huge storage space and so advance and expensive that it would not crap out on you after a few months of use. Joking aside I was expecting at least a tiny crumb of innovation or a sliver of hot news to come out of this keynote but no, what did I get for all my patient listening? Disney ... Disney! That's right Microsoft have teamed up with Disney to add their films to Xbox Live Marketplace. Who gives a rats ass about downloading Little Mermaid and Dumbo?
