Oh the excitement of a new PS3 ... yawn

So the day had finally arrived.
After almost a year of personal inner turmoil since its UK release date back in March 2007, I was driving home with my very own Playstation 3.
I have been bashing Sonys new console since the very first day by claiming it had nothing to offer the gaming community in its current state with its wafer thin games catalogue, poor online set up and was nothing more than a glorified Blue Ray Disc player. At a launch price of £499 there not a single cell in my body that wanted to spend time with a PS3. However following poor sales, three of four different SKUs, the drop of backwards compatibility (i.e the ability for the PS3 to play old PS2 games) and several price drops the time was right to move in for the kill.
There is nothing more exciting, well at least while still wearing your clothes, than getting a new console home and ripping into the packaging to reveal that sleek new piece of kit. I stormed upstairs like a five year old with high blood sugar levels on Christmas morning.
